Chapter Seventeen

For the briefest of moments, she hesitated. She and Theo had sex once–-- on their high school graduation weekend, ironically in the room where she was staying. Since then, she’d only been with Keith, and she could never please him. What if she couldn’t please Theo?

“I’m aching to touch you everywhere,” he said, kissing a sensitive spot behind her ear. She shivered with pleasure and with awareness of his desire. No, this would be nothing like being with Keith.

He pulled her to him, grabbed her hips, and lifted her easily off her feet. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he walked them to the bedroom. “You are so light, so fun to carry.” He put her on the bed, then turned and let her go to on the nightstand light.

“Concerned you may lose me in the pillows because I’m so skinny?” Damn, old fears were slipping out. She needed to control them.

“Never, why would you ask...?” He must have seen something in her eyes, because he said, “Someone else made that comment. Someone suggested you were too thin.” She knew he was avoiding saying the name.

“Yes,” she whispered, glad she didn’t need to explain. Keith used to tell her there was hardly anything to screw. It made her want to disappear. It wasn’t long before sex was something she worried about rather than looked forward to.

As he moved them both to the center of the bed, he said, “You are,” he kissed her neck, “and always have been,” he kissed her jaw, “beautiful and desirable to me.” With each word, he peppered her skin with kisses, giving her goosebumps. “Let me show you,” he whispered, staring into her eyes. And with a deep kiss on her lips, her fear disappeared — as did every thought of her ex-husband.

Eden arched up, pressing her chest into his, and loving the heat of his body against her. She could feel the obvious sign of his arousal against her hip and loved that he wanted her so badly. She ran her hands through his hair and over the back of his neck as their kisses heated, tongues and lips exploring, enjoying.

She wanted more, and she pulled at his shirt to free it from his pants. When he figured out what she was doing, he sat back, took it off himself. The PT and the woman inside of her both admired his body. His pecs and abs were more defined than they were when he was a teen. She ran her fingers through the hair on his chest, then down to where it disappeared into his pants, noticing small scars that weren’t there the last time she saw his skin. Some things had changed. Some things hadn’t.

“Your turn,” he said, leaning back far enough to find the edge of her top, then worked it up and over her head before tossing it to the floor.

As he traced the lace cup on her bra, she was glad she’d taken the time to change out of her sports bra before coming home.
